I googled “Fears at Thanksgiving” and this is what I got:
- Travel stress- traffic jams, crowded airports, bad weather…
- Turkey availability- with the bird flu scare? Know that most of the turkeys in the stores were actually frozen in March, before the outbreak in April/May
- Terror attacks after Paris and Beruit…crowded places in malls and events could be a concern
- Entertaining- food preparation, family and guests
- Even the Kardashians have fears!
God’s Word says:
Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Around your Thanksgiving table, would you take time for everyone to GIVE THANKS TO GOD, the Giver of every good and perfect thing? `
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
May this be your best Thanksgiving yet!
A inspiring poem by an American, Edward Rowland Sill. Are we the Prince or the craven? May we not lose the opportunity to help win a battle because of our jealousy (of the prince’s sword) or fear. When we feel that we don’t have the right tools, sometimes the will to win makes the tool (the broken sword) irrelevant.

Do you do spring cleaning? Spring begins on March 20th this year. During the Jewish observance of Passover, all leaven was to be removed from the house. Leaven in the Bible was often used to stand for sin.
The Season of Lent occurs between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Many people around the world observe the Lenten season as a time of remembering the self-examination and cleansing of the soul.
1 Corinthians 5:7,8
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Let’s take time to look deep in the corners of our heart and sweep away the things that took our Savior to the cross. Even little crumbs.
Have you even needed the services of a Lifeguard? The purpose of Lifeguards at the beach is to identify swimmers who are having difficulty in the ocean. They undergo the constant training to be able to assist a needy swimmer.
If you are a swimmer that has been floundering in the choppy waves of life, getting salt water in your lungs, cry out to Jesus, our Lifeguard! He is willing and ready to rescue you!
“Are you going through a trial? In whatever you are going through now, ask the Lord to show you His greater purpose. If you are sensitive to God’s Holy Spirit, you will see God’s hand in your suffering and the greater purpose for which He allowed the pain in your life, just as Joseph did. Joseph recognized God’s purpose for his suffering was “to save many lives.” © FearNotBook.com
The similarity between Jesus and Joseph is that the pain that they both endured resulted in the saving of their “family.”
John 3: 17 says:
God did not send His Son to condemn the world but that the world should be saved through Him.
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram: I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” (Genesis 15:1)
God is YOUR shield and exceedingly great reward!
